Augie Hoffmann
August W. "Augie" Hoffmann III (February 23, 1981, in Park Ridge, New Jersey) is an American football guard. Hoffmann attended Saint Joseph Regional High School in neighboring Montvale, New Jersey.〔Dicker, Ron. "Boston College received commitments from several prominent New Jersey players, including running back William Green (6-1, 220) of Holy Spirit in Absecon and linemen Augie Hoffman (6-4, 315) of St. Joseph's in Montvale and Tom Martin (6-5, 245) of Howell."〕 He then went to Boston College, where he played football all four years.
He was signed by the New Orleans Saints to a Reserve/Future contract on January 3, 2006.
In July 2009 it was announced that he would return to St. Joe's, as an English teacher and head freshman football coach.〔Czerwinski, Mark. ("Hoffman, St. Joseph Reunited" ), "The Bergen Record" July 6, 2009. "Hoffman has been hired as an English teacher and head freshman football coach at St. Joseph.
